Single Alteration A Mondrian-Inspired Parametric System Unifying Massing, Façade Rhythm, and Light.
SOFTWARE: Rhino + Grasshopper

“Single Alteration” explores how one numeric seed can orchestrate a building’s massing and façade in concert. A single parameter governs floor-plate stratification, curtain-wall grid, and both horizontal/vertical mullions, producing coherent families of variants while preserving structural legibility.

Grounded in a Mondrian-inspired, image-based workflow, the system maps hue/saturation/luminance values to architectural decisions through Grasshopper—using Populate2D, Treemap, and randomized split logic—to select, blend, and place façade panels and tune opacity, rhythm, and light. Small shifts in the seed rebalance performance and expression, culminating in growth visualizations, renderings, and a physical model that demonstrate repeatable variability with a clear design language suitable for real-world façade workflows.
